in the land of remakes

All through out cinema there's always been remakes but now days its been an overwhelming constant and most of the time not doing justice for the original films but very few were ever better than the original like John Carpenter's The Thing or invasion of the bodysnatchers, but however there was several remakes that really  didn't do to well like the remake of classics like "when a stranger calls, The Omen, Nightmare on elm St., Friday the 13th, Black Christmas, Evil Dead, and etc.) To be honest I feel that the independent film scene and foreign film scene are putting more effort into making an original concept and plots and really do wish to see more effort from the mainstream film industry to do good quality horror like the 70's and 80's (only my personal opinion)

But if you like remakes or if you don't please feel free to express one's self
